Desired Skills and Experience Include:
• 7-10 years of increasing accounting experience and responsibility in a commercial real estate firm
• CPA certification required, Master’s degree a plus
• Experience managing a team of accountants, lease administrators, and A/P and A/P staff required
• Experience working with commercial properties required, office buildings a plus
• Experience with investor reporting software Juniper Square experience a plus
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail, and a deadline focus
• Ability to lead a team, but also work independently and in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrate high level of customer service, professionalism, teamwork, and a calm demeanor
• Excellent computer and Excel skills required, Yardi experience a plus
Your role will include, but not be limited to:
• Assume full ownership of Thomas Park’s corporate and property portfolio accounting
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financials
• Ensure the Accounting Department’s structure, reporting, roles, and responsibilities are clear and scalable
• Document accounting best practices, policies, and procedures, ensuring all are scalable as TPI grows
• Maintain strong internal controls and the highest standards, bringing any concerns to ownership
• Ensure tax accountants have TPI financials timely, and that K-1s are always on time
• Automate the Accounting Department, documenting and cross-training on a consistent basis
• Train and develop managers and junior leaders within the Accounting Department
• Serve as treasurer, maintaining oversight of company and property-level cash balances and liquidity
• Ensure lender reporting and compliance, maintaining strong relationships with the same
• Lead the annual audit process
• Assist with investor reporting and presentations along with Asset Management
• Recruit, hire, onboard, train, retain, and lead accounting team members as TPI grows
